Firmware Update PLEASE!

I don't even care about the new features that we could get on our iPods (5G), but I want something to make it a bit more usable. My 5G isn't the quickest navigating menus, for some reason, and if I choose to play a game while listening to music, it's very hard.

Playing Brick, the ball barely moves at some points, and goes incredibly fast at others. Playing Parachute, the bullets I fire take thirty seconds to reach the top of the screen. My 4G was faster than that.

Maybe the new iPod not only sports a bigger HD, but a faster cpu as well?

All I know is that I've noticed zero slow-down when playing the games from iTunes on my iPod while listening to music....

Yupp. Apple aren't like iRiver or iAudio who keep updating their device after new ones are out. The only updates the G5 will be getting are bug fixes and nothing more.

Perhaps there is something wrong with your iPod. Send it back to Apple and let them take a look at it.

Apple's policy is to only focus on the latest models.

They do release updates for older iPods, but only to fix major bugs or to ensure that they still work with the iTunes Store.

I'd consider this a major bug.

That being said, Apple has updated previous-generation iPods before- they added games to 2G (I believe) when 3G was released.

The new iPods will be running a unique version of OSX, will they not?

Although this may be only the iPod touch and not the classic.

The games can run slowly (particularly parachute and brick), although it is much faster compared to the 1.0 software.
