Games on iPod

I bought a new laptop, so I backed up my iTunes library and simply put all 18 of the back up CDs in my new laptop, getting my whole library on my new computer. Then I synced my iPod with the new laptop. And it worked beautifully.

Except...

My games. I bought 3 iPod games and installed them from the old computer. They still show up on my new computer in iTunes, and they show up on my iPod. But I can't play them. I get an error message telling me to sync with iTunes again. Which doesn't work.

I realized I didn't check "sync games" but when I did, I got an error message saying that I'm not authorized to play them on this computer.

Sounds like you just need to authorize your new laptop. If you have any iTunes (purchases other than games) you'll be prompted to authorize the computer when you play them in iTunes. You would then re-sync your iPod and your games should play. I don't think you get the authorization prompt for games, but they require authorization to work. Maybe Apple expects that if you have games you'd have other iTunes purchases. If you don't have any iTunes music, I think you can still authorize your computer through the iTunes Advanced menu. If not, maybe download one song (even a free one) and that should complete the authorization.

Also, be sure to de-authorize your old computer if you're not going to use it anymore.

Yep, that's exactly what I had to do. Thanks!
