Okay so here's my story. I received an ipod from a friend which had a faulty hard drive. I replaced the Hard drive and everything worked firmware wise. But I didn't have any left side audio, I messed with it and messed with it and couldn't get the audio to work, but I did notice that if I had the ipod opened and I pushed down on the ribbon cable (right behind where it connects to the board) the audio would come in and out. so I replaced the ribbon cable and the entire assembly (headphone jack, hold switch, etc.) Now I am having the same issue, if I push the ribbon cable down and touch the board both sides of audio work. there is a square with a dot in it right behind where the ribbon cable plugs into the board. As a temporary fix I have a small piece of rubber under the Harddrive to hold the ribbon cable down onto the board. What am I missing here (please note that this is a new system board as well) But I am unaware if the old system board had the same problem as I have only had it running since I put the new system board in. But as I said it's a temporary fix, from time to time one side of my audio will just cut out and I will have to squeeze the ipod on the right side (right where the ribbon cable connects) BTW this is a 30 gig with video. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am becoming very frustrated. and just to clarify, if I put the ipod together without anything under the hard drive I get no audio. TIA
