So I have an iPod that is a little over a year old (30gig 5g). Last night I had put some new music on it and decided to upgrade the firmware. Well everything was going ok for a while until I decided to upgrade. When I did so my iPod ejected from ituens and the install froze. So I force quit itues and tried again. The same thing happend the second time... so I just said F it and I'll worry about it later. Well then about 5 mins later the iPod restarts on its one and begins to update automatically... with it being not connected to the comp. It freezes about 1/8 into the update process and just sits there for a good 30 mins not doing anything. So I tired to do a force restart (holding select and menue) and that worked to shut it down... but now my iPod won't turn on. I can't get it to go in disc mode either... Is my iPod dead? Any help would be appreciated!
thanks! |

now that it will not turn on, can your computer still recognize it? if so, format it using the os (FAT32), then try to restore it from there through itunes. it might be that it doesn't have enough battery charge either. in the past, when mine has been completely dead it takes awhile for the computer to give it enough charge to recognize it. you might want to plug it in for a 1/2 hour or so then try it.

well that is what I was going to attempt to do but my comp does not even connect to the iPod any longer. Nothing happens at all. I had actually thought that maybe it didn't have enough power but after I left it plugged in over night and still nothing... I'm not sure if that is the issue.
