iPod Mini - Would like to convert to Mac

I have a mini that I haven't used in a while and is formatted for windows. Now since I no longer operate on windows computers, I would like to know how I would be able to erase my iPod so that I could have it formatted for Mac. When I hook it up into my computer it does not recognize it.

I take it that iTunes doesn't see it either? If the mini is fully discharged, it'll need time to get some minimum juice. I think it's 30 minutes or so (during which you can check that cables are good, ports are good, blah, blah ;-) After it's had some charge, try resetting it.

That doesn't make much sense since a Windows-formatted iPod can appear fine on both Windows and Macs. Now on the other hand, if it was Mac formatted, it would only appear on a Mac.
