Connecting new video ipod for first time

I just purchased a new 80gb video ipod. Before this I used a 3g ipod with my current PC. I already have installed the latest iTunes on my PC. My question: when I connect my new 80gb ipod to my PC for the first time should I first insert the software CD that comes with the new ipod (and I assume install new ipod software) or can I just attach the new ipod?

Any info is much appreciated.

If you have the newest iTunes software, then there is no need to use the iTunes CD. Mine didn't even come with a CD though
Just plug it in. I believe you will need to update the firmware, but I'm not sure. It's no big deal though.
