Hey I've a bunch of albums under one artist - would like to know how i can list them by chronological release date and not alphabetically [i know i could just put 1,2,3 in front of each of the albums but just hoping i can have them listed the way i want without having to put numbers in front of the album name]

you can't do that directly. that's just another reason we need advanced playlists.
