Help With A New PC please.

I recently purchased a new PC, when i hook up my Ipod (4GB Mini) to it, itunes says that i must first run the updater(which i did) then return it to factory settings, which would entail that i erase my whole ipod. I dont have all the songs from my ipod on my CPU which means that i will lose 700+ songs. How do i backup those songs so i can avoid this, or make it so itunes will recognize my problem...

thanks

BEFORE u moved to the new PC, you backed up, moved over your MP3, AAC right? if so, would it be a huge chore to re-import (re-build) them into iTunes?

If no other copies available except in iPod (oiy!) then u need a third party util to extract, search this site for "ipod to PC."
