Lightbulb this fixed my i-pod! :)

i had the same problem with my i- pod nano 5th generation - i picked it up five minutes after fully charging and using it and the screen was just black- despite plugging it in to the computer it would not charge and i-tunes could not detect it.

i read another persons post saying " switch the hold/lock key on and then of. then hold down the menu button and center button" .... this fixed my i-pod!!!!

after about 5 seconds of holding the buttons the apple sign appeared and my i-pod was on and all my music was still there! THANK FOR YOUR HELP!!

WTH?

I've already run through the normal attempts to reset it: Play/Pause + Menu. Menu + Select. Connecting it to the AC Adapter and holding Menu + Select. Connecting it to the AC Adapter and holding Menu + Play/Pause. Still no signs of life and it won't charge. I left it connected to the AC Adapter ALL NIGHT and still it won't turn on, take a charge... nothing. Please, can anyone help??

The same exact think happened to 2 of our iPods. Did you discover a fix?

For the classics, I'm pretty sure the only way to reset is to toggle the hold on/off first, then press and hold the menu and center buttons UNTIL the apple icon comes up. Have you tried that?

Same or worse problems with my 1g nano. At least I have my iPhone but I really like the lightness when i do jogging but, for now, it stays sadly on my desk, dead, with the problems listed on my previous post that i repeat here:
"Hello everybody!

I'm a proud owner of a 2GB 1gen iPod nano. Now I have a problem with it. I had a travel to US for a week and I forgot it ad home. When I went back to home i discovered something really strange:
-Obviously the battery was flat
-I plugged it to the wall charger and came the apple logo with no backlight, same thing on my laptop and my pc, if i disconnect it the screen goes blank
- I tried to reset it many times (no hold activated) and it reboot from the apple logo... to the apple logo again
- I tried to go on diagnostic and the screen goes blank
- I tried to go on disk mode but no response, it only reboot
- One time it came with the screen "Connect to your computer. Use iTunes to restore", so I unplugged from the wall to connect to the laptop and the screen goes blank

My iPod was regularly charged and used everyday, it last 4-5 hours of playing time and it was treated well

Can someone help me please?"
