Is anyone's iPod experience problem-free?

The volume of people who post their wacky iPod-related woes on here is pretty upsetting. It seems like when you pay the $300+ for your new gadget, you do so with the knowledge that there are going to be a half dozen lemons, in addition to countless minor gripes to deal with.

Is there anyone who uses their iPod on a regular basis completely free of any kind of technical difficulties?

Right here man. I had a slight glitch with album art but I figured it out no prob. I've had the 30gb video since early december and it's been sweet. I have four movies on it via ImToo converter and over 1000 songs all with art. So no complaints here.

I've had no problems with my G5 5GB. I've thought I had a few problems but it was operator error.

i have had no trouble with my ipod since i got my 5g in december.

on a site like this people will flock here for help but no one feels like wasting posts to say "my ipod is working fine" becuase it doesnt accomplish anything. i know there have been the obligitory "my ipod is great" threads. look at it this way if the ipod were having so many problems with so many users, would it still be a popular device? prolly not, problems are still the minority in the ipod world.

I've had my 5G (30) since Deccember and zero problems. Currently carrying ~1400 tracks, a few vids and a couple dozen photos. I use my iPod routinely on my commute (45 min. each way) for the most part. Flawless performance since day one.

Remember too that so many people flock here with "OMG my iPod is frozen" or "OMG my iPod isn't recognized by my computer" They hit one of these two issues and immediately post here in a panic.

Had these people been able to take a deep breath they could find out that a reset 98% of the time fixes a frozen iPod. The not recognized can be a much bigger problem, but there is a well documented troubleshooting list for that as well, and sometimes a simple reset of the iPod and restarting the computer fixes that.

The amount of posts we get about "My battery only gets X hours" and "Why won't video's play on my iPod" often add up to individual uses of the iPod and not true fault to the iPod themselves.

So through all the "issues" you have to wade through the serious ones and the ones that aren't as serious at the same time.

iPod 30gb, 3G still going since May 2003 (okay, I had to replace the battery once, but that was my fault, I let it overheat.)

Cheers,
Stu

No problems with my 4G (had for 12 months) and no problem with THIS 5G (had to replace 1st one )

I'd say a good 98% of problems posted here could be fixed by reading Apple's support website (or previous posts), and 40% of those aren't problems at all, they're just user ignorance.

Yes, there's a big difference between a product not working and not knowing how to use it. I have the latter problem to some extent with pretty much anything with a microchip, but very rarely the former.

Had my 5g 30gb since November.. no general day to day problems apart from my podcasts won't transfer and I'm stuck with old ones I deleted a while ago. I'm not a big fan of podcasts though so I don't really bother listening to them and haven't bothered sorting the problem out yet.

No problems here with my 5G 30GB.....looks like it is getting the most satisfied customers. That should hopefully change once Apple releases the next update and fixes all the 5G 60GB glitches.

I've had my 5g 30gb since December and i've only had one problem, and that just happened recently. I can't get ALOT of my 300+ jpegs on my ipod. I don't know why but i'm ####ed. This didn't start untill I updated itunes. But other then that, I like it and i have no other problems with it. I have an Agent 18 VideoShield and 2110 songs on it and i'm adding 9 cd's right now. I only use my ipod for music and pictures(well did), kind of pointless to watch movies on the ipod for numerous reasons so i watch them on my entertainment center or rarely psp.
