Using a new iPod library

Hi, I am living away from home just now, so dont have access to my library. I have downloaded iTunes from the net, and when I connect my iPod i get the following message-

"The iPod is linked to another iTunes music library. Do you want to change the link to this iTunes music library and replace all existing songs and playlists on this iPod with those from this library"

Now my question is, if I say yes, will all my current songs on my iPod be erased to make way for the songs on the new library on this computer (which by the way, is empty)?

The reason I downloaded iTunes is purely so I can play my songs through this computer.

Please help!

Thanks

That is correct. Do not say yes, or all your music will vanish!

If you say no, you can still view and play your ipod on that machine.

SO is there anyway I can play my songs through a computer that is not my own?

If you select NO to changing the library you will then go into the ipod settings in itunes on the new computer and change the update type from Auto to Manual. Then you can select and play track directly from your ipod, as well as drag and drop new music from the new itunes to the ipod.

In Manual mode the ipod just becomes a new source, like the library, podcasts or CD's.
