Hello all, first time poster here.
I recentely purchases a 15gb 3g ipod. When I bought it, the screen was damaged, so I bought a screen to replace it with. I have managed to install the screen, and it powers on and everything, but I must have done something wrong. The screen is extremely dark, to the point that I cannot see it. Also, the backlight only works sometimes, when I press the button in the middle of the touch wheel. Any thoughts on what I could do to solve my problems? Thanks in advance. |

Have you tried adjusting the contrast and backlight settings?

Did you really download and read the manual?
From the manual: If the Screen is Too Light or Too Dark 1Select Settings > Contrast. 2Use the Click Wheel to adjust the contrast. If you accidentally set the screen contrast too light or too dark, you can reset it to the default by pressing and holding the Menu button for about 4 seconds. If you happen to have clicker on, you can press menu multiple times to get it back to the front scree, three clicks down should get you to settings and seven clicks down should get you to contrast. Hopfully reseting the contrast with the above key stroke should help you out, of course the backlight will come on first, you'll have to hold it longer than that. Of course there is a chance that your repair has damaged the ability to do contrast settings, I'm not sure. Goodluck.
