On mine I had to pry it open, cause I left the foam inside it. I ended up bending it all over the place to avoid damaging my ipod.
With just the BSE, you should be able to get it off. Just do it carefully.

It wont. How does the case normally open? I am pushing both sides in under where the holes are and trying to pull one side down, but it wont budge even a mm.

Here is how I open mine. If the post for the clip is off, put it back on. Hold the ipod face up with the dock connector side toward you. Holding the post to keep the bottom part from moving, push away from you on the top part with your thumb just above the dock connector. Don't push on the face of the case, but on the bottom edge. The two halves of the case should pop open with very little effort.

Nope. I'm pushing with all my might and it only budged about 2 cm.

Well I just emailed them, hopefully they will let me return it mangled. I will have to pry it off, because there is no way I will be able to remove it- I have blisters all over my fingers now.

Right, well he's giving me a full refund for my troubles, and also giving me a gift certificate to any product on his site. Great customer support, I guess I really did get a defective one.

Anywas, my ipod was still mint after I pryed the case open, Its a good quality case.

It sure sounds like it, I haven't had any problems getting mine off.

I recently purchased my second Core Aluminum case: first one for the nano (I received a free one as a gift) and now one for the 5G. Both of them are excellent products.

Most important, however, is the awesome customer service. I knew I was going to take a long out-of-town trip, so I requested two day shipping. I received a personal telephone call from Core asking me which of several 2-day shipping options would work best in my community.

This is typical of the spectacular service that I received from Core the first time. I am recommending Core Case products to all of my friends--and iLoungers, too!
