Hi I've had my iPod for a while now, but recently its started to pause at random times. Even when hold is on. I does it with both the supplied ear buds and high performance headphones. I thought it may be the case its in (Evo 3 iSkin). So I decided to take it out. It still paused, but not as much. Also, it seemed to pause whenever I would apply slight pressure on the right, i.e. if I'm turning up the volume or just holding it near the right side. I don't know why it would pause, I'm not even touching the touch wheel when it does pause. I do have the Apple Care plan for it. What's Apple's policy for things like this? Do they send me a new one? Or do I send mine in? Thanks for any help.

Try different headphones. I had this happen with some Sonys on my old iPod.

I would guess that the headphone jack has a loose connection. As you know, when you pull out the headphone plug it automatically pauses.
I would get a replacement. That is definately legitimate grounds for one.

I have the same problem that you have with your iPod. Mine would just pause for no apparent reason even while it plays video. I find it to be very annoying so I sent it in. Hopefully they will send me a brandnew one and not the faulty one that I sent back to them.

Your first best bet is to restore the iPod. Open the iPod Firmware updater (the latest one) and click "RESTORE". This will reformat and return the iPod to it's out of the box condition. Reload music and try it again. If it still happens, call Apple. Doing the above will be the first thing they will recommend when you call them.

THAT sounds like a defective unit. I'd call Apple.
