Can anyone help me? I've tried to search for answers all over the web but i think my iPod might have a combination of problems or something...
![]() Yesterday morning, on the bus, on my way to work through the snow storm (i've never needed my iPod more!), i turn it on, and alas! All the songs are gone! I think "ok, whatever it'll probably be fine after i get home and plug it in to the computer" but oh no... When i plug it in it shows a spinning disk with a magnifying glass. I've found out that this means it's scanning the hard drive for errors. It passes the test, but after it's finished it tries to connect to the computer and open iTunes which causes iTunes to freeze, and if i try to to do anything with the iPod with some other program (like restore it or eject it) it freezes too (including Finders). If I unplug the iPod the computer wakes up and tells me i should've ejected it first and i Tunes wakes up and tells me it couldn't read the contents of it and I should reset it using the iPod updater. The day before this happened i dropped my iPod (in the concrete stairs at work! )and also plugged it into the computer for the first time since i last updated iTunes and iPod updater (via that automatic updater thing). Don't know if that could have anything to do with anything. I've had my beloved iPod since february '04 and have never had any problems.

You can try doing a reset and then connect it to the updater and see if it will connect so you can restore it. If you can't restore the iPod and it's under warranty then send it to Apple.

That's not too encouraging... I've tried reseting it but it just won't get along with the computer! Right now I'm desperately trying to hack it in any way i can, because i figure if I'm gonna have to send it off it doesen't really matter anyway, right?
Thanks a lot anyway honeybee! |
