Welcome to the Lounge,

First, are your songs in iTunes?

Second, Reset your iPod and see if the songs show back up.

If not, and your songs are safe in iTunes, restore your iPod (erase it) and then resync. After the update is complete, EJECT the iPod safely before you pull the cord.

Good luck,
Stuart

you restore with the ipod updater. which you really should use the latest one. assuming you've got windows, the updater should be in your start>all programs, look for ipod and then it'll go into ipod updater. plug in your ipod and then click the ipod updater and press restore.

30gb iPod photo- has been sent to my aunt. She loves it, and is very careful with it, as I've heard. Hopefully I can get it back when the battery dies or the hard drive fails.

30gb iPod video- just got it as of 12/13/05 YAY!!!

Restore it with the ipod software updater you updated it with... or, if you were "updating" it in itunes, a better term they need to call syncing, then download the updater to restore it

Good point on the confusion, but sadly, while "syncing" iTunes says: Updating iPod and when done, says "update complete"
