Topic: HELP!! My iPod deleted all of its songs

last night i was updating my ipod and it said ipod update complete so without even thinkning about it i unplugged it.it said ipod update complete but it didnt say remove ipod so when i turned it on all the songs were gone.then i plugged it back in and let all the songs update overnight and i woke up this morning and it said update complete remove ipod and i did and looked and still all my songs are gone?does anyone have any idea how to fix this problem?thanks

Welcome to the Lounge,
First, are your songs in iTunes? Second, Reset your iPod and see if the songs show back up. If not, and your songs are safe in iTunes, restore your iPod (erase it) and then resync. After the update is complete, EJECT the iPod safely before you pull the cord. Good luck, Stuart

ok so how do i restore the ipod?i tried to restart it but nothing happened.i am using itunes so all my songs are still there.

you restore with the ipod updater. which you really should use the latest one. assuming you've got windows, the updater should be in your start>all programs, look for ipod and then it'll go into ipod updater. plug in your ipod and then click the ipod updater and press restore.

Restore it with the ipod software updater you updated it with... or, if you were "updating" it in itunes, a better term they need to call syncing, then download the updater to restore it
