FIRST, INITIAL Charge

I just wanted to know how long you should charge the iPod when first getting it. Should I do it for 4 hours, or until it says it is charged. Please help, as I want to get the most out of my battery life. I have a 5G 60GB Black iPod, btw. THanks for your help!

Your charging habits make no difference. It's a lithium ion battery, not nickel cadmium. However, you should keep it charging even once it says "charged" because it will continue to trickle-charge past 80%.
