Returning my iPod : QUESTIONS!

Ok I've had my new 5th Generation iPod for a month or two, bought it from a Best Buy and did not get the Best Buy Warantee knowing that the iPod comes with a standard 1-Year Warranty from Apple. Well since I've had it I've had many harddrive problems like skipping songs, freezing, and two complete harddrive deletes. I've had to restore it twice and now the last straw is 2 dead pixels on the screen. If i were to bring this to an apple store would they take it and give me a new one, or what would they do because i paid $399 for it and this is so lame haha anyone have to return theirs? give me the headsup before i take the subway all the way to the other side of the city for nothing thanks!

You will likely have to send it in, but if you have an Apple Store nearby (relatively), you might as well try. Be sure to bring all the paperwork including proof of purchase.

You can also simply call the store in question beforehand, although they're probably busy due to the recent product announcements by Apple.

If you take it to an Apple store, they will likely return it. Go online and find the store near you so you can sign up for an Appointment with and Apple Genius.

I did this with mine and got a new one. You don't need a reciept. Though you should register your ipod using the serial number.

GO to an Apple store, or request a repair from the Apple website. Those are your choices if you can't fix it.
