something wrong with screen?

i was searching through the ilounge forum with my ipod infront of my of course. it was laying there flat down on the case they gave me when i got the ipod. its laying vertically and i just noticed that when i tilt it towards my computer screen, theres this black thingy that comes out. i dont know how to describe this but i really dont like it there. is theres something wrong with my screen? i have this big scratch on my ipod, so i was planning on getting brasso to clean it, did that scratch mess up my screen?? or did i put force onto my screen forcing this black thing to come out?

black glare right? it's flaws in the plastic. More noticable if you have polarized glasses. It seems to be "normal" for the 5g.

i seriously doubt you'll be able to return it. especially since you have a nice scratch on it. i was in the apple store at the mall this past weekend and asked one of the associates if mine was worth returning, (it has a small defect on the plastic towards the bottom of the screen but isn't noticeable during normal viewing) he told me that i shouldn't worry about it if i have to turn it sideways and at a sharp angle to see it. makes sense...
