Hi folks
I've started to get the hang of smart playlists, but have come across a problem I'd like to be able to get round. At the minute I am adding 6 or 7 jazz cds to my iTunes each week. I have set up a smart playlist which captures all of the new additions which I haven't listened to since the last synching. That's working fine.... except... my brain doesn't!!! I can't remember the album name or artist of who I've added, and so when I start my ipod playlist it goes playlist>song name which is a bit frustrating as I can't remember who the song is by or what the album is. Therefore when I scroll down I would like to be able to choose the start of an album, but can't .... coz I can't remember which album the song is from. Is there any way of making my smart playlist smarter, by having a hierarchy of playlist>album>songname or playlist>artist>album>songname on my ipod??? I've got a 4G Color, using the 25-03-2005 firmware (thanks to all for helping to get the smart playlists working again!!!) Gratefully for any thoughts Chet |

There's no way to make your Smart Playlists heirarchical. The best suggestion I have is to maybe make a different smart playlist for each album/artist?
Or maybe arrange the songs in your smart playlist by album alphabetically. At least then you'll have songs that are from the same album grouped together.
