I'm thinking of getting a new 5G ipod but was wondering how photos are stored. Is it possible to access pics from different folders (for example a folder of holiday pics) or is everything in one big wodge and to navigate through you'd have to scroll through the lot?

This is what I found when organising photo's on my 5G. Itunes will not mirror your folder structure exactly on the ipod.
On my Winxp PC I had: - My Photos ...2004 ......Holdiay ......Xmas ......Cat ...2005 ......Birthday ......Car On the ipod I got: - Photos ...2004 ...2005 All photos from sub folders are lumped into the year folder. In the end I had to flatten out my folders to 2004 - Holiday , 2004 - Cat ....etc A few other annoying issues I found with photos:- 1) Created-Date Some of my older photo's must have been copied at some point as their created-date was set to Feb 2004. The ipod shows the created date when scrolling through the thumbnails so a lot of my photos showed the wrong date. I had to use a file attribute editor to reset the created date to match the picture taken date. 2) Display Order. Some of my photo filenames have been renamed to replace their camera sequence filename to something more meaningful. The ipod displays in filename order so some of my holiday albums show in what look like a completely random sequence. A few user options for these sort of problems would be nice! |

Ctreate a folder under your music folder and under your ipod setttings choose th appropriate folder to syc with
I have 5 folders in the "My Music Folder" and select which folders to sync. You can point the ipod to any folder anywher under your ipod/photos settings. When youre ipod is hooked up to the computer open itunes select your ipod and choose photos tab, there you can see what to do
