Hey, I'm new to the iPod myself. (bought my first pod a week ago.. a used 3g)
I think the problem is you need to enable "Manually manage songs in playlist" in the iTunes preferences. Otherwise, iTunes just grabs your computer's library and syncs your iPod to it. After you enable the manual option, the iPod's song library will become black and you'll be able to add or delete items individually if you want. --Josh |

your songs could of been moved. does it play then songs in itunes? if it doesnt play the songs in itunes or recognize them they were probably moved or deleted try clearing your library and then add the songs into Itunes over again see if that helps.

When I try to click on manage music manually like i always do, a pop-up says it will erase all my music on my iphone and then synch with the computer.
I can't do that! In fact I have always managed my music manually and can't see why this is different now. Help pls? |

Not sure what "this problem" is (there are several problems dscribed in this thread's other posts ;-), but if you're looking to set the iPod touch to be manually managed, that's easy. Connect the touch to iTunes; when the touch appears in the Devices section of the leftmost column in iTunes (the "Source" column), click on its icon to select it. The right side of the iTunes window now displays tabs for all the sync options; click the leftmost tab to display the Summary tab; put a check in the "Manually manage music and videos" box and click the Apply button; done.
