Help needed, can't find answers

Hey everyone, I just got a 5G 30GB iPod for Christmas.

It has already frozen and the hold is off, but it says it is locked. Also, none of my computers recognize the iPod - even after I have loaded the programs from the CD.

What do I do?

Also, can I put songs from an iTunes that worked with my old iPod to this new one?

Is Itunes causing the problem? A friend of mine had a big problem with the new itunes and found out it was having a conflict with Norton Antivirus.
