a query about resetting my 6GB iPOd

Great site, by the way. I regularly browse, picking up tips etc. I now have a problem which I hope you can fix. Well, more of a query than a problem, but......

If I reset my iPod to factory settings then plug it into my PC, will my iTunes folder be deleted as well, or will that automatically reload all my music back onto my empty iPod?

For some reason, I uploaded a track to my ipod, and............the whole iPod wiped! The message flashed up telling me to reset it to factory settings, but I'm unsure wheteher to do this or not.

Can you advise me?

Thanks
Phil

Your iTunes music folder will not be affected as a result of restoring your iPod with the iPod Updater. iTunes should reload all your music back into your iPod--it'll be as if you've plugged in a fresh, new iPod to your computer for the first time.

OK! Cheers for that. I have reset my iPod, but now have a new problem. Grrrrrrrr!...................

I connect my iPod to my PC and iTunes starts uploading all the tracks to it. It gets about half way through then really slows down, to the point where you think that nothing is happening. The screen says 'Do Not Disconnect'. So I left it and went off to do something else. I waited about 3 hours, by which time my iPod was getting quite warm (this has never happened before), so I disconnected it. I expected to find all the tracks that had been uploaded so far, but still my iPod is emty. No tracks, no nothing. What is going on? Who can help? This is driving me crazy.
