Is it OK to leave an iPod in the dock?

I'm new to the forums and was just wondering if it was OK to leave an iPod in the dock constantly when I'm not using it. I haven't found a way to turn it off and stay off once in the dock, so I didn't know, once it's charged, if it was damaging to just leave it in the dock indefinitely. Thanks!

well it's not that good, the manual states that once the ipod is done charging the lithium ion battery will automatically stop charging and just shut off from charging sources. however there still could be charging coming through though and could burn out the battery. so it's probably best if you like unplug the power from the dock once it's done charging. and when it's in the dock turn the ipod off as you would normally.

30gb iPod photo- has been sent to my aunt. She loves it, and is very careful with it, as I've heard. Hopefully I can get it back when the battery dies or the hard drive fails.

30gb iPod video- just got it as of 12/13/05 YAY!!!
