Question "MacClear Zip" confusion!

so i have the iskin evo for my 40 gig 4G ipod. i dont like it anymore because it makes it bulky and i want something very simple. all i need is scratch protection. so i saw the MacClear Zip.

look at the review for this. the one guy says it won't fit the 40 giger when its labeled 30/40. of course, this review is left for the 10-15-20 GB case, not the 30/40.
(thinkdifferentstore.com site here, 3G 10-15-20 macclear zip)

now why would they have another product just for 30 and 40 if it did not fit it?
(thinkdifferentstore.com site here, 3G 30/40 macclear zip)

is the thickness of the 3g to the 4g with the same harddrive space different?

can anyone explain this to me? does anyone have any experience or pictures of this case. any help is wonderful.
of course if you have any other suggestions, that's nice too, but i don't wanna make my ipod any bigger so this looks like my only way out.
thanx.

3rd Generation iPods are thicker than their 4th Generation counterparts. This is because the hard drives and batteries in the 3rd Generation models were earlier models, and thus a bit thicker. For example, a 3G 15GB is about the same size as a 4G 20GB; A 3G 20GB is thicker than the 4G 20GB.

Hope this helps a bit.

so what does that say about my 4G 40 Gig? if theres an item named 30/40 for 3Gs it should also fit my 4G 40? Correct? Sounds logical? Is it?
