Hi. I just got a new 30 gb photo ipod+hp 3 days ago. I loaded lots of my old mp3s onto it and it worked fine. Just an hour ago I tried loading some more mp3s, and it gave me an error saying that one or more files cannot be played on the ipod. Now I notice that here are no more files on my ipod!!! I use itunes and play around with reupdating files, deleting everything in the library and adding a song at a time, nothing appears anymore on my ipod. Should I get a new one?
BTW I run windows xp pro. |

Are your songs still playing in itunes or do they have a ( ! ) mark next to them when you play them ?
Sometimes people think that the listing of the songs in itunes is the actual file. It's not. They are stored (usually) under my documents, my music, itunes, itunes music. Are all the files still there ? |

Yeah all my mp3s are still there in my C: drive. They seem to be loaded by itunes fine, and it even goes through the updating thing and it seems to send files to my ipod. But when I play my ipod its completely empty!!

Try here
http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/ Sometimes it's easier as they show screen shots. Maybe your ipod is in "disk mode". |

I still think that your issue is probably software (not hardware which requires warranty) but if you can't fix it take it in and maybe they can see what the problem is.
