Question IPOD Classic 30GB has no sound

I tried to convert all of my files to AAC today, June 7 2011, but when I did and synced my ipod, my ipod files have no sound. When I play them from the pc they have sound. I went back to the Itunes folder and opened up the previous file and resynced, but nothing. Please assist, my itunes purchased music isn't even playing.

Thanks

Are the actual music files playing and no sound is coming out of the headphone port or are the files not playing back (and the status bar is sitting at 00:00)?

The first thing to try is a simple reset. This essentially completely turns your iPod off and back on again. Nothing is lost and it is the equivalent to restarting a computer. Hold the menu and select (center) buttons both at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release both buttons once you see that. This process may take a while so don't be surprised if your iPod doesn't reset in a second. Then try playing back the tracks.

Restoring the iPod would be the next step if the above didn't work. Plug your iPod into your computer, open up iTunes, and restore it. This will erase absolutely everything on your iPod so make sure all of your media is in your iTunes library and not stored solely on your iPod. That is about all you can do on your end in terms of software issues.

Go through and reset/restore your iPod and report back.

The music is playing and no sound coming from the headphones. I will try what you have suggested. Thanks
