Ipod classics are know to be laggy (especially the newer ones), but not like that.

I would start be restoring it.

Not good.

I agree with The Intruder. My Classic 6G is unresponsive for maybe a second while it brings up the album art, but nothing like 3 to 40 seconds. I suggest that you make sure that you have a good backup of your music and data, and then erase and restore the iPod. If that doesn't help, you should begin pricing a new unit, because I suspect it is going to fail soon.

Restoring is going to be a last ditch effort as it wipes your ipod clean and sets it back to factory settings. Try doing a reset first. Hold down the menu and select button together until you see the apple logo. Then release and let it continue to boot up. Usually fixes most issues.

He did reset it.

And if you have all of your media on itunes, i see no problem restoring. Just re-sync and choose the settings you had before.

Yeah i-touch rules.

Maybe you have too many song that's why it lags.
reset first, if cant do try to delete the songs that give you problem with.
Restore is the last thing to do.

If you dont have music on your PC, and dont want to loose your music on your Ipod... go download a sharepod and transfer all your music from ipod to your pc and do restore.
