My 80GB Video iPod that cost me almost $400 about 5 years ago just started having display issues where the screen's all black or dark, it no longer shows any playlist or options, all I can get out of it is that when I attempt to do that fix (shift Hold switch back and forth a few times, then press and hold both the center circle and the Menu button at the same time for 10 seconds, and repeat until the Apple logo shows up) that usually did the trick in the past, but this time the Apple logo is only very very dark, for the first time ever, and even flickers between that and just showing nothing. No matter how many times I repeat the fix I can't seem to cure it.

Odd, as I kind of have the same issue with mine as well however all I get is a white screen (backlight) with nothing. I too tried resetting mine, but nothing shows up on my screen. Just a 'white' display. I also tried turning my Ipod Video off as well, and it just 'reboots' itself. I did hook my Ipod up to my computer when I got home and everything shows up on my computer ok. Attempted to reset again, and nothing on the display. Again, it remains white. Not sure if you and I are having the same issues, but they sound similar. My Ipod is approximately 6 years old (2005) 60GB. I hope we can get our issues resolved quickly, as I take mine on vacation to upload all of my photos of underwater photography for storage until I get home. I really don't want or can afford an Itoucgh right now!

I hope this helps you as well as others. My Ipod Video 60GB 5th Generation is STILL going strong! This was the first time I have even had to take it in, but am happy that it can be fixed. Good luck! Jan in Cali |
