White Screen remaining after being restored....

I searched for 'white screen after restore' on these forums and found no results, so I thought I should make a new thread. I pulled my iPod (60 GB video) out of my pocket yesterday, and for some reason a blank white screen came up. I didn't damage it or anything prior to this, it just seemed to pop up out of nowhere. In fact the iPod wasn't even on prior to the white screen. Anyways, I tried to restart the iPod several times, but that failed to do anything, and it would just continue to return to the white screen. Then I plugged it into a usb cable, restarted it, and then used the method to send the iPod into disk mode. The computer then picked up the iPod (it wasn't being read before) and I could listen to music on my computer. There were still problems though. The 'do not disconnect' screen doesn't come up, and whenever I eject the iPod the screen doesn't change from the grayish screen that comes up with the supposed disk mode. So I restarted the iPod once again, and the white screen came up again. I plugged it back in and used the disc mode method again so that my computer would read the iPod, then I tried updating the iPod, which didn't help. Then I updated my itunes and restored my iPod to its factory settings. I assumed this would make everything back to normal, but it still only has a white screen. I can add music to my iPod if I send it to disk mode so that my computer can read it, but I can't listen to music from the actual iPod, and I can't see anything other then a white screen. Do you know what the problem might be, and how I could go about fixing it?

If no one has heard of it, would I at least be able to get a reply saying so before my thread falls off the page? Any help would be appreciated.

I didn't mean to seem rude; I tried to seem polite and I'm sorry if I came off otherwise. My thread continued to fall off the first page without getting replies so I thought I should say something more. Thank you for replying though.

I have the same exact problem. White screen. Turn it on and off and it will randomly come back. I put in a new battery, same crap.
Do a reset , and I dont see the apple , I see 3 lines on a white screen.
I have been messing with it for a while and cant find anything wrong. It could be the screen, the motherboard or the HDD.

If you do a google search, you will find hundreds of people with the same blank screen problem, and I still havent found the answer yet. I know its not the battery, replaced that. Its either the screen itself or the motherboard.

I have the white screen issue.

Did the new motherboard actually work? And if so, how much do they cost/where can I get one from? Is it hard to install?

LscratchP, you might want to open up a new topic instead next time instead of bringing an inactive topic back

What did you do last before this problem happened? Each case may be different. Is it just a white screen or are these lines or even cracks on the screen?

Replacing the motherboard or LCD can be hard if you don't know how to open up the iPod. If you have the iPod Video, it will definitely be much easier to open than the iPod Classic (sealed really tight). You just have to be careful of the battery cable when you open it up (slowly).
