Question iPhone X - Putting on Old Backup?

Quick question

I have a recent backup of my iPhone 5s. It wasn't running the latest OS, but I backed up everything to my PC.

I have an iPhone X, running iOS 11.0.1.

Can I take put my 5s backup onto my X, and will the X then have the older iOS, or just the things stored on my phone, such as apps, photos etc...

Thanks in advance!

Yes you can restore your iPhone 5s backup to your iPhone X. The operating system is not included in that backup so this will work.

You will have all your stuff on the new iOS 11.0.1. Though you may have to reenter WiFi and email passwords, unless you used encryption on that backup.

There is NO WAY to run and older iOS on new hardware. Also you'll need to upgrade your iTunes as well. The iPhone X will not work with anything less than iTunes 12.7.

Have you backed up your iTunes Library this week? If not, you are risking losing your music and playlists....

Hey CJ! Thanks a lot on the reply. I didn't know the I'd need to upgrade iTunes.

I used to have an encrypted version, but most recent was not. If I had known the info regarding passwords and such, I'd have done encryption.
