Red face Can an iphone user see where I am in the world?

Hi everyone,
I am from the U.S. and will be travelling to the U.K. in 2 weeks for work. My mom has an anxiety disorder, so her therapist recommended that I not tell her to prevent potential panic attacks. We communicate via text, phone calls and whatsapp. A couple questions for you folks:

1. If she were to call me, or I were to call her using my regular AT&T iphone while I were in the U.K. would there be any indication that I was out of the U.S.?

2. Would there be any indication on whatsapp that I am out of the country?

3. Is there anything on my iphone features that may give it away?

Thanks everyone for your time..this is a sensitive situation, but in the end, for her mental health (she has severe panic attacks when things are outside of routine) this is the only way to go.

Thanks a million.

1. Not really.
2. Not unless you send your current location. You may want to disable location services for WhatsApp just in case. Settings->Privacy->Location Services, turn off WhatsApp.
3. Find my iPhone if you have the same Apple ID as she does, turning it off is a possibility, but I don't suggest it as it is part of the overall security for the iPhone, especially if you lose it (Settings->your Apple ID->iCloud, turn off Find My iPhone, enter password). Find My Friends if you enabled it, you can disable it by removing her as a friend (Open Find My Friends, tap Edit, tap the red circle to remove them, tap Done). Messages if you shared your location (Find them in Messaging, tap the (i) next to their name, tap stop sharing My Location).

Watch out for emails and notifications on flights and delays (share the same airline app, or email account)
Also iCloud can share your calendar if you are on the same Apple ID. Disable uploading your calendar to iCloud.
Facebook Messenger reveals when you were last active on Facebook and Messenger. You may want to avoid those apps while you are gone so it does not show the 5-8 hour time difference.
Be wary of the time difference (5-8 hours) when you respond...

Have you backed up your iTunes Library this week? If not, you are risking losing your music and playlists....
