iPhone 7 won't sync

I just purchased an iPhone 7 and have been attempting to download my apps and ringtone my previous phone I had backed up on iTunes. I am repeatedly getting a message that my iPhone won't sync because my computer is not authorized to do so, even though I have done that, many times over. I'm stuck and I don't know what to do next.

Is the phone using your Apple ID for iCloud and the iTunes Store?

If the phone is on the latest iOS, that should be located in Settings->Apple ID
Older versions of the OS had different sections like Settings->iCloud and Settings->iTunes & App Store

If you see your Apple ID listed there, then check iTunes to see if it is using the same Apple ID.

If you don't see your Apple ID listed there in the phone, then log in with your Apple ID to authorize the phone and allow the sync.

You should see it greyed out in the Account menu. You can sign out of iTunes in Account->Sign Out, then Sign in again.

Apple has their suggestions as well: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203160

If you have precise error messages that could help more.

Have you backed up your iTunes Library this week? If not, you are risking losing your music and playlists....

I've done that multiple times to no avail.
Here's the message I'm getting:

The iPhone could not be synced because this computer is no longer authorized for purchased items that are on this iPhone.

You'll need to authorize the computer with the Apple ID the songs are from, or erase the songs that you don't own, then sync

I didn't need any songs. Just apps from my old phone and a ringtone.
I tried an alternate Apple ID and was able to get the ringtone, but not the apps.
The old phone was iPhone 4.
Is it possible those apps won't sync due to the old IOS on the 4?

Possibly. Some apps are starting to age out. I have some that will disappear with iOS 10.

You should really use 1 Apple ID and keep using it. Much easier than changing them.
