Me and my wife both have iphone 5S's, share the same itunes acc but dont want to get each others mssg's contacts etc.
Is there any way to change the settings in each phone so they stay seperate.
Any help would be great,

Yes.

You need to go to Settings->Messages->Send & Receive.
Either 1 phone can use the Apple ID for messages or none. If you want your phone to use the Apple ID, then on her phone uncheck the Apple ID from this location. She should have an email address for iMessage registered as well, so she can tap Add Another email, and type in her email address. Then go through the process to validate it.

Here is an overview of the final settings:

Phone 1:
Checked - Phone 1 phone number
Checked - Apple ID email
Unchecked - Phone 2 phone number
Unchecked - Phone 2 email

Phone 2:
Unchecked - Phone 1 phone number
Unchecked - Apple ID email
Checked - Phone 2 phone number
Checked - Phone 2 email

Scroll down a bit more and make sure that Start New Conversations from is set to the phone number of the device being held.

Have you backed up your iTunes Library this week? If not, you are risking losing your music and playlists....
