How can I permanently delete personal data from iPhone before selling

I have a old iPhone 4s and want to change a new iPhone 6s plus, I want to sell the old iphone 4s but I really worry that some technical guy could retreive my sensitive data from my iPhone although I 've delete them,# can my data like messages, contacts, photos be easily recovered by data recovery app?# how can I do to make my data never be recovered?

This is the recommended way to do this: General -> Settings -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings

I test your method but when I go to reset, the "Erase all content and settings" is gray. I don't know why, is there any other way that can completely erase my personal without restore?

I became worried!

That is usually caused by having an Exchange based email account on the device you are about to erase, and there may be a policy associated with it to prevent accidental erasure.

You may have to remove the email account before attempting to erase it. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars->Exchange->Account, Tap on Delete Account if it is there. If it is not there, then look at Settings->General->Device Management->[whatever it is called], scroll down and tap Remove Management.

One of those should remove the Exchange account and allow General -> Settings -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings to work.

If that fails a Restore without recovering a backup will do the same job.

Have you backed up your iTunes Library this week? If not, you are risking losing your music and playlists....

No, the easiest way is the Apple-recommended way using the functionality already present in iOS. No need to waste time/money on a third-party app.

the best way is to factory reset it. when the phone restarts set it up as a new phone and there you go. its in SETTINGS>GENERAL>RESET and there you will see erase all content and data.
