voice calls over a2dp bluetooth? help!

Hey all

I have an A2DP bluetooth music receiver hooked up to my car.

It plays music pristinely thought the device.

But when I try to make a phone call, it doesn't send the dial tone or the call through the bluetooth, but only through the iphone.

Is there a cydia tweak to force the call through the A2DP device?

Thanks

I have the opposite problem, mine makes voice calls but no music. I know that it is a limitation of my car.

Unfortunately A2DP is Unidirectional, meaning it can send data only 1 direction. So streaming works for you but calls can't.

I believe you need HFP (Hands Free Profile) to make calls.

Have you backed up your iTunes Library this week? If not, you are risking losing your music and playlists....

What device are you using to make your calls? I'm assuming your BT receiver is mono only.

If youre using an iPhone like me, and it is jailbroken, you can download a tweak called BTMono. It forces your (music) audio to be on the mono channel in order for your Mono BT receiver to pick it up and relay it to the speaker.

Also if youre not Jailbroken, under Settings-General-Accessibility-Mono Audio
There is also a Flipswitch for mono audio.

Maybe these will work for you?

I think what I'm going to do is buy a receiver that has both HFP and A2DP profiles. Thanks for the tip.
