Bluetooth voice dialing help needed

I am trying to use my 2013 GMC Acadia voice recognition to place a phone call with my iPhone 4S. I can say to the car's voice recognition call a number and it will, but if I say a person's name in my contact list for the car's voice recognition to call, it says "Command not understood". I paired my husband's Blackberry and I had no problem placing the phone call. I paired my daughter's iPhone 4S, and I still could not get it to call a contact. I spent 45 minutes with Verizon, and 45 minutes with Apple Support, to no avail. Any one know what's happening? I also disabled Siri and tried it (several times) didn't work either way.

I had to disable Siri for my Verano to work.

If you just say "Call <contact name>" you are using the phone in the GM vehicle (mine came with one) and it is reading your contacts from the phone that paired and stored numbers in the vehicle memory.

The long commands I had to use was "Bluetooth" [wait 5 sec] "Voice" [wait 5 sec] "Call" <contact name>

I now skip the Bluetooth part.

Looking at your manual, your commands are pretty much the same.
