My battery on my 4S sucks since I upgraded to IO6. I see others have the same problems. Has anyone found a magic fix?

As a 4s owner with IOS 6 I am not seeing that issue.
Time to check the usual culprits. Siri Location, Facebook, other location services.

Already turned off a bunch of location services. Just shut off Siri so we'll see. Is Apple creating a fix for this as I see many others have the same issues. Am glad you are not.

My iPhone 4 and iPad 3 which is also reported on Apple Discussions as having bad battery life are both working fine with iOS 6. My iPad has not been on a charger since last night. I have been watching HD video podcasts streamed with Downcast as well as using a Bluetooth speaker for the last 3 hours and it is still a 80% battery level.
As with any major OS update, computer or otherwise, there may be battery related issues with the OS but anything major is probably from a bad install or from conflicts from other apps you may be using. These battery related issues can be caused by many different issues so some thing that fixes it for some may not work for others. Since it is usually caused by third party conflicts it may not be a top priority for an Apple fix if it is not related to iOS 6. On a rare occasion my iPhone has shown very poor battery life. Closing all apps then powering down the iPhone completely then restarting it gets it back to normal. Works for me. You may also want to try Restoring using a back up or as a new device to see if it helps.

Thanks. It seems better now that I turned Siri off. When you say restore, what do you mean and how does one do that?

Restoring an iPhone (or iPod/iPad) is done through iTunes. It completely erases your device and re-installs the OS so that the iPhone is in the same state as when you first opened the box. From there, you can either re-sync all of the content back over from the backup of your current iPhone or you can sync it as a new device and not use a backup.
That should be done only if the battery life doesn't improve even after closing a few culprit apps/services. Mail has also been known to cause issues. Back with iOS 4 and my original iPad, Mail would cause the battery to drain over night leaving me with just a few hours of usage in the morning. Mail did the same thing with iOS 5 on my iPad 2 until Apple fixed it. The main issue is that some apps are going to run in the background and misbehave as the developers haven't properly programmed them, the updates to iOS are causing incompatibilities, and/or there is just a bug in the code. Apple will likely come out with iOS 6.1 in a short amount of time addressing any bugs that are being experienced in iOS 6. That is how software developers work now. They release a fairly stable product and patch things as they come up. Gone are the days when we would see a rock solid release where the developers pushed back the release of a product by a month to fix bugs. Apple isn't the only one doing this. Microsoft has done it for a while with Windows and console video game developers do it all the time. Nothing is more annoying than buying a new game on the day of its release, opening it, plopping it in my Xbox 360, and then seeing that I need to download a 5MB update. It's even worse on my PS3 as that 5MB update takes 3979345 hours to download from Sony's slow servers.

Good point on the push notifications kornchild2002. I had no use for it and disabled it from the beginning.
Just thought I would add todays iPad iOS battery test. Even though this is an iPhone thread I have read many reports on iPad battery drain with iOS 6 as well. I took my iPad off it's charger last night around 10 PM and did a little web browsing before bed. I got up this morning around 8 AM and fired up some HD podcasts streaming them over WiFi using my Big Jambox bluetooth speaker for audio still running on battery. Once I was done with the podcasts I opened the TWIT app and left it to stream their video feed for the rest of the day. The iPad's battery just die at 7:30 PM. That's over 20 hour's since it was last charged and over 11 hours of playing streaming video from the net while sending the audio to the bluetooth speaker. Not to dispute any claims there is battery issues, but it does work well too.
