Sync Notes on iPhone and IPad -how

I would like to be able to sync the supplied Notes app. So that when I add notes to my iPhone, they appear on my iPad.

I have turned on Notes in iCloud
I backup both to my laptop.

Syncing Notes through iCloud requires you to set up the iCloud Mail service. They do not sync with the Mail app on a Mac computer unless it is also through the iCloud Mail app. Hopefully this will change on Macs with Mountain Lion which should have stand alone Notes and Reminder apps.

If this is a mail account @me then I have done that.

The laptop I use to connect to iTunes is a Windows machine.

Would it be easier to sync a different Notes.app? If so can you recommend one?

In replying, please remember that I am a novice.

Thank you for any help.

You don't have to have an App on the computer. OK, you have the .me mail set up online, your devices logged into your iTune s ID and Settings/iCloud/Notes turned on on both devices. Open Notes on the devices tap the "Account" button at the top and ensure you have the iCloud account selected.

Sync Notes

When I open Notes on my iPhone, I have a tab for accounts with different sets of notes.
On my iPad, I do not have an Accounts tab ????

What iPhone and iPad are you running and with what version of iOS?

You may have multiple accounts, possibly one associated with each email account. Depending on the email accounts you have set up on the devices you may have an account listed for each account as well as a "On My iPad/iPhone" account. It may also be possible the Account button may not show up if there is only one account syncing, Apple does hide un-necessary menu items sometimes. Bottom line is only the "iCloud" account will sync by iCloud.

Apple still has a little work making this a little easier. It took me awhile to get iCloud figured out and working properly. It is a good setup and worth while once you figure it out.
