Water damage. You should have turned it off, dried it out thoroughly before attempting use. Water damage pretty much kills electronics although you may be lucky. Hope you're insured

Anything is possible when it comes to water damage, you may get lucky by simply replacing the screen. It may not work and you'll have to continue replacing parts and you still may not get it working. You could send it to a reputable repair shop who has all the components and can easily swap them out for testing. Personally I would write off any water damaged electronic device that doesn't work once it is dried out. Even then I wouldn't trust it for very long.

What can happen is water gets into the PCB and it expands over time severing contacts and the circuits so as sparkee say don't trust it for long if you're lucky enough for it to work
