If I turn IMessage off of my iphone and ipad, what happens to messages others may try to send me?
Does the sender receive a message that just says their message wasn't delivered, or do the messages get stored and re-delivered when imessage is turned back on? |

On your iPhone they'd still come through, provided that the iOS sender has "Send as SMS" turned on in the event that iMessage is not available. If the sender has this option turned OFF, then the message would sit in limbo until iMessage is available. If the sender is not an iOS user, then the message would always come via SMS.
For your iPad, the message would sit in limbo until iMessage is available since they don't support SMS.
