I have the iPhone 4 with IOS 5.0.1.. Ever since I upgraded to IOS 5 I have been experiencing this problem. It will work for a few days and then stop, and I would have to press it numerous times for it kick in. I have tried restoring the phone and rebooting it and still to no avail. Is anybody else in the same boat? How do I fix it permanently?!

If you are having a home button issue that is physical, then it is probably a hardware problem.

I had a similar issue with my 3gs.. i wasnt able to fix it and just ended up upgrading to the latest model..
I know thats not much help but i wish you the best of luck. Maybe try downgrading your OS and see what happens first.. |

Have a look at the ifixit home button repair guide then decide if you can do the repair or find someone who can. If you don't have a local Apple Store try cell phone providers for a local repair depot.

I would suggest going to an Apple store closest to you. Tell them you've been having problems with your iDevice.. Make sure you tell them that it's been happening frequently, and that you have to push it repeatedly for your home button to register. They may give you a replacement. Hope this helps

Is your phone still under warranty? If so go to the apple store to have your handset fixed.
