Hello Everyone,
This is my first post on iLounge and I'd like to appologise in advance because I just know someone has posted this question before. See the .jpeg below, what does this mean? I assume you all know how this came about. After taking quite a few pics in succession I open the stock Apple photo app and I see a message (I forget now what it said) and the image below. What happened and can I ever recover the lost photos? Are they still on my iPhone? If none of the above makes sense I was in a hurry so I'll be happy to reword and retype it again. Thanks. |

Without a message it would be tough to find what could be the problem.
You could try plugging in your iPhone and use your Windows Explorer to navigate to the photos to see if they are viable pictures by viewing them in windows. If they are, reboot the phone and try to view them again. If they are not, delete them.

I managed to intentionally re-create the error. The message was: "Updating Library / Rebuilding Library". Then I was left the with the following image. Also, this cannot be opened when clicked as you would any other image. The only to see it is to open the photo on either side of it and then slide your thumb accross the screen to change ohoto or use the arrow key. Does this make sense?

I suspect this is a picture from a computer and put onto the phone.
If the above suggestions didn't help, you could try deleting your iPod Photo Cache and re-sync to see if the issue is resolved.
