iPhone 4 Battery

I got my iPhone 4 two days ago, and my battery life has been quite bad. (I think.)

With fairly heavy usage (3d games, internet browsing on wifi, music and push emails on) I can only get about 5-6 hours of battery life doing this. No apps running in the background, brightness on half, location services off.

For example, last night I was on Gizmodo while listening to music. I could literally watch my phone dropping by 1% every 5-10 minutes. Is this normal?

Do I need to simply break my battery in? Will doing a couple of cycles fix this? Also, when I set my phone up I restored to a backup of my old 3G (running ios4.1) Would setting this up as a new phone see an increase in performance? Am I just paranoid?

If you are playing games on it, it will run down fairly quickly, so from what your saying, your phone is normal.

It's just that this is no where near the 10 hours promised by Apple. Honestly, this isn't much better than my 3G.

Okay, here.

This was spent browsing the internet on 3G/wifi, listening to music, playing 3D/2D games. (Namely Modern Combat Sandstorm and Ragdoll Cannon 2, among others.)

Push emails on, push notifications on. Bluetooth off. 3G/Wifi on for the whole day. (Not always connected to wifi.)

I started the day with 66% battery life, so 46% in one day isn't bad, but there was hardly heavy usage. (I got one email today and replied. I received 3 texts but didn't reply. No calling.) All I did was what's listed above, along with downloading the lite version of one app.

Is this abnormal?

EDIT: Two more things. I forgot I played the oh-so-demanding Epic Citadel for about 20 minutes, and brightness was on half for most of the time. I had it on full for about 20 minutes.

Just played Fruit Ninja online over wifi for 20 minutes, with Brightness on max. That dropped my battery 4%.

I have this problem, too.

I heard many people say it will run down quickly as you are playing game ans watch videos and lots of things.

So, when I play games or watch on youtube,I will take care about my iPhone battery life.

Maybe it's device.

High def games with good graphics etc will make the processor work harder, get hotter and chew the battery. It's normal.

My 3GS would last maybe 3-4 hrs of gaming (NFS or similar). My iPhone 4 will last maybe an hour longer.

Sometime it is due the battery not calibrate properly. Let the iphone battery drain till 5 to 10%, and make a full charge.

Trust me, you will see some improvement.
