non-native apps won't start

I updated my 2G phone from 2.2 to the current OS, along with relocking it and giving myself totally over to AT&T, now none of my non native apps will load. If I try to open Facebook, for example, it will open ever so briefly, then close again. Native apps work just fine. I have tried shutting it down and starting up again, I have done a restore, and none of those seem to work. Any ideas on what's going on? Thanks.
