Mind you, my wife just tosses her iPhone into her purse with whatever else is there and she's had no issues with scratches either, which I actually find rather surprising.
I know this is a super old post but I had to replay because you are super lucky, my GF does the same thing and her iPhone is thrashed from her purse

So count yourself lucky...

She does have a case on it, to be fair, but no screen protection. Mind you, she doesn't have a lot of sharp objects in her purse -- keys and the occasional bit of loose change would be about it, and the purse has firm leather sides as opposed to just being a big soft handbag, so it doesn't really get knocked around all that much.

Today I went to add all of my dubstep songs to my iphone so I highlighted all of the songs, went to get info, changed the genre on all of them to dubstep and away i went. The only thing is now it says dubstep on all of them in my itunes library, but it has two dubstep and a drum and bass genre on my iphone. What is that about?? I open up my music on my iphone through itunes, change the genre there, it says dubstep on itunes again and still two dubteps and a drum and bass on the iphone itself. this is unbelievably frustrating omg. I just want to listen to my stinkin music based on genre, how hard can this be??

Needs to be mentioned on this particular thread: the sleeping monster that is the DST/Daylight Saving Time glitch... this particular monster sleeps for up to 7 months at a time and only really upsets those of us who sync our calendars with a p.c. calendar, namely Outlook. This IS becoming a dealbreaker in my case. There are at least 2 time/clock related glitches here - one being that appointment/event times will show differently on Outlook and the iPhone after the DST comes into effect (there will be an HOUR difference...), irrespective of whether the p.c. clock/Time Zone settings AND the iPhone Time Zone settings are the same. The only solution ultimately seems to be to totally delete all appointments after the DST change date and re-input them all - a massive job in my case. The second issue is standalone alarms AND alarms attached to recurring appointments - alarms will sound off hour late or early and no matter how much editing you do with these the "ghost" alarms will still go off - again the only solution is to delete them completely and re-input.
I am currently banging down Apple's door about the issue but the problem is that Apple are still in a state of denial regards the problem and the level of complaints about it, despite it being a huge issue in my opinion, are relatively small across their customer base because (a) I seem to be in a minority in wanting to sync my p.c. calendar and (b) the problem only reveals itself twice a year.
Ideas for fix? Like I said there seem to be two separate issues as described. The calendar issue I feel could be something to do with iTunes and how it communicates with Microsoft Outlook during the sync process and as for the secondary problem it would appear that the iPhone cannot retrospectively apply time changes to historic repeating events after the DST event.

...maybe the iPhone is missing a true GMT time zone setting option. For while I assumed UTC was the equivalent but am not so sure. For example alarm went off an hour late the other day and on the notification message alongside the incorrectly timed alarm details it had in brackets the correct time quoted in "GMT". This is despite my Time Zone set as UTC. Nowhere on the device is there a GMT option to select - I suspect this may be part of the overall problem as the data from Outlook is talking in terms of GMT. (Before you ask - the London zone setting on the iPhone you would have thought would be appropriate - but am beginning to suspect that it is not).

Unhappy software glitch

I have an iPhone 3g in use since 2008, although I don't actually use it as a cellphone anymore- no sim card. Recently, it's started to skip to random parts of the song and just ignore the beginning, and then it will replay that same song infinitely starting from a different point. (ex. The song starts at 0:45, finishes, and keeps repeating from 2:19.) Resetting both on and off iTunes hasn't helped. Ideas?

There's a bug in Apple's iOS 5 that would allow anyone to look into your photos without using a password—users would only have to click on the camera button on your iPhone to access all the images.

Consultant Ade Barkah has discovered that Apple sets the security of the images stored in your phone based only on their date. If a photo was taken in a date prior to the actual date on the phone, the photo will not be visible.

I've restored my iPhone's firmware with no luck. Up until I restore however, the pictures on my iPhone's "Coverflow" were all mixedup... not correctly matched with the ideal album, etc. After several syncs, it had almost everything in my library, but with mixed up album art.
