If your phone and your computer are on the same network you can use the PhotoSync app.
It allows you to view your photos via your computers web browser, then you can download the photos you want.

After I connect my iphone, in Windows Explorer you will see an iphone icon listed under disks/drives. You can view all your photos through windows explorer that are on your iphone and move/copy any you want onto your internal HD.

Lightbulb Remove lock if d/l'ing pics from IPhone!

I just want to say thanks to JHOLLINGTON for this advice:

Quote:
Note as well that your iPhone must not be locked with a password, otherwise photo transfer will not work (this is presumably to prevent somebody from getting at your photos if they were to get their hands on your iPhone). If you're using a password in the locking mode, ensure that you unlock the iPhone before trying to transfer pictures.
I had been struggling with this problem for a while now and now know what I was doing wrong!!

Help?

Quite simply on windows xp as I am not yet a vista user, though it may be the same solution, go to my computer > click 'Apple iPhone'

All your images are stored in there, but you cant yet access them. What you need to do is select the ones you want to copy, right click, and select 'Save to My Pictures'.

Clicking this will automatically copy all selected images to your My Pictures folder and then you can do what you wish with them.
Ok... this is how I previously did it. But now its not showing up as a Camera or anything as a matter of fact. I can sync my phone with music and everything in iTunes but thats it. Oh and i'm on a PC

Help?

works with Picassa

I'm on Windows XP with iTunes 9, and when I plug in my iphone, there is a dialogue window asking me which of 3 programs I want to run (Word, Windows Picture/Fax viewer, and Picassa).
If I choose Picassa, then the iphone camera roll dumps to a ".Picassa3temp" folder under MyDocuments/MyPictures.
At least I can get the pictures from there, or from within Picassa.

Have you deleted Bonjour, by any chance? This seems to affect the iPhone's ability to transfer photos and whatnot.

It was easy!!

OK...I'll admit that I haven't read all of the posts on here, but getting the pics off the phone were so simple. All I did was have my iphone connected to the comp via USB port. I opened up the folder "my computer" and it showed how much available space I had on hard drive C and a few other internal tasks. At the bottom of the list, was an icon for Iphone. I right clicked and there was an option to import photos. Clicked on it and voila....had pics on my comp and ready to go!!! Anyone else find it this easy?? I got on here yesterday to find out how to do it, but it seemed like I had to buy a program or a MAC!!

Ditto... I used to just plug in my iphone via USB and it showed up under My Computer. It was easy as anything to get my photos. Now it doesn't show up under My Computer. I can find my iphone in iTunes, but can't get my photos...

Make sure you don't have your iPhone locked with a passcode, as that will often prevent the iPhone from even showing up as a camera in certain apps, and even those apps that do show the device will not allow you to see or transfer any of the pictures -- it's a security feature to prevent somebody from getting at your photos should your iPhone be lost or stolen.

use Image Capture

If you're on a mac, you can also do this with Image Capture (it's in your Applications folder by default, part of the osX bundle) - just open it up when your phone's connected, and you'll be good to go. You can set where to download the images, and download all or just some.

In Windows 7, my iPhone4 shows up in "My Computer" as "iPhone Digital Camera", and I can go into the DCIM directory and then into the "800AAAA" folder, and then I can copy photos, or delete them, just as if it were an SD card.

I am using an iPhone 4 with Windows 7. Whenever I plug it in to the PC, I get a dialog box asking me to choose a program or method to import my pictures and video. I always select the camera and scanner wizard and it works great. Pulls them all in and then I have it delete them from the iphone. Works exactly the came as all my other digital cameras.

Reconnect USB after unlocking your iPhone

Hint: If your iPhone is already connected to your PC when you unlock it with the password, reconnect the usb to get it to refresh the "My Computer" Explorer window. That solved my problem.

I tried all these things, but I can't get the photos off my 2G iPhone using either a PC or a MAC (I have both). The iPhoto program acts like the iPhone isn't even connected when using the MAC, and the PC shows the iPhone (after I restart Bonjour), but won't let me even see the photos on it. There are thousands and I need them off my iPhone and onto a computer. Any advice?
