Syncing an email account

On my very old iPad ..... an icon on the homescreen labeled "MAIL" successfully brings up an AOL email account. I can receive receive and send messages fine. But the Contacts are not correct; rather the Contacts are those associated with a Yahoo account formerly on the iPad that I had Removed.

Can someone tell me how to get the proper set of contacts loaded? Is that called "syncing" the account? Thanks again. ...wdc

Where are the contacts you want located? In AOL? Or on the iPad?

Have you backed up your iTunes Library this week? If not, you are risking losing your music and playlists....

THE contacts I want for the AOL account must be at AOL.

AOL has this help:

How do I sync my AOL Contacts to my iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch?

Here's how to get your AOL Contacts on your iOS device:

1. Tap Settings.

2. Scroll down a bit and tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

3. Under 'Accounts,' tap Add Account…

4. Even though you will see AOL in the list, go to the bottom of the list of options and tap Other.

5. Under Contacts, tap Add CardDAV Account.

6. Enter these details:

• Server – carddav.aol.com

• User Name – your AOL email address

• Password – The password for your AOL account

• Description – Whatever you'd like to call this group of contacts. AOL Contacts for example.

Generally yes, you need to fill out the server. That is why the information above about the server was included.
