Hi friends,
Happy New Year! I want to buy my female friend a nice case for her IPAD 4. She has the original Apple Smart Case for the IPAD 4, but does not like the fact that the magnetic clip comes on and off quite easily. Thus, I am looking to get her a case with the following qualities: 1) Good quality, sturdy, great protection. I am looking to spend up to $75, and can purchase it online (Amazon or other site) or in store. This will be done in the USA 2) She would like front and back protection, preferably in one packaging, i.e. not a front smart cover and back case, but if that is the way to go then fine. 3) Something that can be propped up on various viewing angles, i.e. for use while reading, sitting down, lying down 4) Good quality. Not looking for leather or something exotic 5) Not too bulky or heavy, but sturdy and good protection Thanks for your help! Desidude |

I'd recommend an Otterbox, or Lifeproof case. The Otterbox is a bit bulky, but for the protection is provides it's well worth the extra bulge. Both cases are within your budget. Hope this helps. - Chase

By far the best case I've ever used is the Toblino, available for about $35 at Amazon.com. It's leather, uses the smart cover feature, it's available in a few colors, fits like a glove and offers solid protection all the way around. I've been using it for two years and it doesn't have a mark on it. Very sturdy and very nice looking without adding much bulk.

Hello all, noob here. Just got the iPad4 myself about a week ago. I ended up getting a case made by "Solo". Got it in Office Depot for $30. So far I like it. allows 2 different angles in either landscape or portrait mode, the back swivels which is pretty cool. Also has some elastic strap that goes around the back to keep it closed. And of course has the magnetic wake/sleep feature. Hope this helps.

I am using the Targus Versavu right now. It covers front and back plus it allows the iPad to spin 360 degrees. So you can rest it up in landscape or portrait.

I looked at a lot of cases and bought the Apple Smart case. The function of the smart cover always works and it provides a couple of different viewing angles. It fits perfectly with all the external controls exactly in the right place and it offers good protection without a lot of bulk or weight. It also comes in different colors.

Sorry, I disagree. The Apple smart cover offers slight protection for the display, but other than that it's a $40 cover that offers virtually no protection.

They might be talking about the Smart Case and not the Smart Cover since they mention both. The Smart Case is actually pretty good compared to other similar cases. It isn't the most protective thing out there but it is also better than the vast majority of iPad cases. I wish they would make one for the iPad mini instead of just the Smart Cover. The Smart Cover is pretty worthless and way too expensive. It's the nicest cover out there and actually works better than other third party but it doesn't protect anything other than the case so it is definitely on the low end in terms of protective ability (unless its paired with a back case that is Smart Cover compatible).

You can opt for Otterbox as it provides the best quality cases for all the apple devices like iPhone 3g, 3gs, 4, 4s, 5, iPad, iPad 2, iPad mini and many others.
